About Platinum Homecare

Platinum Homecare provides care and support to people in their own homes, helping people remain safe, supported, and independent in their local communities.

Mums Hub is working with Platinum Homecare to create a practical employment pathway for mothers who may be interested in care work. This pathway recognises that many mothers already have valuable caring experience through family life, parenting, and supporting others, and that these skills can be meaningful in the workplace too.

Who it may suit

This pathway may suit mothers who are caring, reliable, practical, and interested in meaningful work supporting people in their own homes.

It may be a good fit for mums returning to paid work after time spent raising children or caring for family, especially those who would like local, people-focused work with flexibility around family life.

Platinum Homecare has advised Mums Hub that they are open to flexible, school-hour working arrangements, subject to local availability and the needs of each care package. They also consider availability case by case, including AM, PM, and weekend options where suitable.

Flexible work for mothers

Platinum Homecare has spoken with Mums Hub about flexible working options for mothers, including school-hour availability where possible. This may make care work a practical option for mums who want to return to paid work while still managing family responsibilities.

Availability and suitable hours are discussed directly with Platinum Homecare and may depend on the local area, client needs, and each applicant’s circumstances.

Training and getting started

Some applicants may already have care experience or relevant training. Others may need to complete training before starting.

Platinum Homecare has explained that Care Skills and Care of the Older Person training will be required if not already completed. This training can be completed through Chevron Training, and Platinum Homecare can provide a supporting letter. Free course options may also be available through Fetch Courses, and Intreo may be able to support funding in some cases.

Applicants will also need to complete Garda vetting, provide references, complete free HSELand certificates, and attend two training days with Platinum Homecare before starting work.

How to apply

Platinum Homecare has created a direct application link for Mums Hub. This allows their recruitment team to see when applicants have come through Mums Hub and support the pathway properly.

Applications, interviews, training, vetting, employment decisions, and role details are handled directly by Platinum Homecare.

Mums Hub note

Mums Hub does not employ candidates directly and cannot guarantee roles, hours, interviews, or job offers. This page is shared to help mothers understand the pathway and connect directly with Platinum Homecare using the dedicated Mums Hub application link.
