ICON FAACT Group

ICON FAACT stands for Families of Autistic and Additional Needs Children Together.

ICON FAACT is a peer-support group for parents and guardians of children with autism and additional needs in the North Inner City. The group gives families a welcoming space to meet others who may be going through similar experiences, share information, ask questions, and feel less alone.

The group supports parents and guardians by creating opportunities to connect, talk through everyday challenges, exchange practical information, and build confidence in navigating services, school, family life and additional needs support. It is community-based and focused on helping families feel more informed, included and supported.

ICON FAACT also organises activities for children and families. One of their current activities is Creative Minds, a kids club for children aged 2–11 with additional needs. The club takes place every Tuesday from 4:00pm to 5:30pm in Killarney Court Community Hall, Buckingham Street Upper, Dublin 1.

Creative Minds is designed as a friendly, creative and inclusive space for children with additional needs. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, which also gives parents and guardians the chance to meet, connect and support one another.

The group may also organise community events and fundraising activities, such as pub quiz events, to bring families and supporters together.
