Fathers & Partners Wellbeing

Fathers and partners can also feel overwhelmed after a baby arrives. Changes in routine, sleep and responsibility can be difficult, and it’s common to feel under pressure during this time. These feelings are valid, and you are not alone.

Many parents are navigating this period without the level of support that once came from extended family or community. It’s easy to feel isolated, especially when trying to balance work, family life and new responsibilities.

Talking to someone or connecting with others can make a real difference. Support groups, community spaces or even a simple conversation can help reduce stress and remind you that others are going through similar experiences.

If you feel you need support, you can speak to your GP or reach out to local services. There are supports available for fathers and partners, including groups that offer a space to talk and share experiences. Groups like From Lads to Dads are made for this very reason.

Looking after your own wellbeing is an important part of supporting your family. Reaching out is a positive step.
