Crosscare – Portland Café and Food Support

Crosscare is a social support organisation working with people and families experiencing poverty, food insecurity, homelessness, isolation and other challenges.

One of Crosscare’s local supports is The Portland Café in Dublin 1. The café is open to the public and provides affordable, healthy meals in a friendly community setting. It is a welcoming place for individuals, parents, families, older people, and anyone who may be struggling or who would benefit from a warm meal and a supportive environment.

The Portland Café offers breakfast, lunch, tea, coffee and snacks. It is designed to be accessible and community-based, giving people a safe and respectful place to eat, connect and access support.

This can be especially helpful for families or individuals who are under financial pressure, feeling isolated, or finding it difficult to manage food costs. People do not need to feel embarrassed about using the café. Crosscare’s community cafés are there to provide good food, dignity and a warm welcome.

The café is located at 35 Portland Row, Dublin 1, D01 T102.

Crosscare’s food support services also work with individuals and families who may need additional help with food poverty or related challenges. The service can signpost people towards further supports where needed.

Low-cost meals are available. Crosscare Youth Information lists the Portland Row café as offering breakfast from 8:00am–10:00am and lunch from 12:00pm–2:00pm, including options such as soup, lunch, tea/coffee and a three-course meal option with dessert and tea/coffee for €5. Please check directly with Crosscare for the most up-to-date opening times and prices.
