CDETB provides education and training opportunities across Dublin city.

For parents and adults returning to learning, CDETB can be a useful starting point if you want to build confidence, improve skills, explore training, return to education, or take steps towards work.

CDETB adult education and further education courses are delivered through colleges, adult education centres and community locations across the city. In the North Inner City, courses are linked with the Parnell Adult Learning Centre and other local centres in Dublin 1, 3 and 7. Many adult education classes are free of charge.

Adult Education

CDETB Adult Education supports adults who want to return to learning in a friendly and welcoming environment.

Courses may include reading, writing, spelling, maths, digital skills, technology, English language classes and community education. CDETB’s Adult Education Service provides free classes in adult education and community centres across more than 150 locations in Dublin city.

This can be helpful if you want to rebuild confidence, improve everyday skills, support your children’s learning, or take a first step back into education.

Further Education and Training

CDETB also offers Further Education and Training, often called FET.

FET includes practical courses that can help people prepare for employment, progress to further study, change direction, or gain recognised qualifications. City of Dublin FET College describes itself as offering thousands of courses across several areas of learning, delivered in more than 30 locations across Dublin city.

CDETB also provides Adult Education Guidance.
